The Islamabad Symposium 2025, hosted by the NUST Institute of Policy Studies (NIPS), concluded on October 16, 2025, with a dignified closing session featuring a vote of thanks by Rector NUST, Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif.
He expressed heartfelt thanks to the distinguished speakers and participants, extending special appreciation to NIPS for its efforts in fostering impactful dialogue. Dr. Zahid Latif reaffirmed NUST’s vision of nurturing young minds and promoting knowledge diplomacy through global partnerships and collaborations. He hoped that the Islamabad Symposium 2025 would mark another milestone in advancing Pakistan’s intellectual and developmental legacy.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), attended the closing ceremony of the Islamabad Symposium 2025 as Chief Guest. The event was organised by the NUST Institute of Policy Studies (NIPS) at NUST. While delivering his keynote address to the audience, the Chairman JCSC expressed his gratitude to all speakers and panelists for their valuable insights and highlighted the evolving global and regional environment. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s active role in promoting regional peace and stability and in balancing relations between the Global North and South through dialogue, dignity, and principled diplomacy. Emphasizing the need to replace confrontation with cooperation, he reiterated Pakistan’s consistent support for the just and peaceful resolution of disputes, including those of Palestine and Jammu & Kashmir.
